At the end of the course you should be able to create simple Python applications and we will create a simple web application during the course.

This course is designed for those who wish to start programming with one of the up and coming programming languages.

Python for beginners covers the following topics:

  • Why Python: Understand the advantages and disadvantages of Python
  • Linux? Windows? OS X? Running Python on your hardware
  • Start programming in Python: Understanding variables, control structures and methods
  • Object-oriented programming: Understanding Classes and Objects
  • More object-oriented techniques: Interfaces, method overloading, polymorphism
  • How to use Python packages: Create a simple web application that queries a database
